Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to The People Movers, a professional Packing & Moving service provider based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. By hiring us for your moving needs, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.

By booking a moving service with The People Movers, you agree to these Terms of Service (“ToS”), as well as any additional policies or rules we may provide. The agreement becomes effective when you confirm your booking with us.

Definitions

• “Company” refers to The People Movers, which provides Packing, Moving, and Storage services in Ontario.
• “Customer” refers to any individual or entity that hires The People Movers for Packing, Moving, and Storage services.
• “Services” refers to any services offered by The People Movers, including but not limited to Packing, Moving, and Storage services.
• “Agreement”refers to this Terms of Service (“ToS”) document.

User Obligations and Restrictions

User Responsibilities: You, the Customer, agree to provide accurate and complete information regarding the move, including the pick-up and delivery locations, and any special requests.

Prohibited Activities: You are prohibited from providing inaccurate or misleading information, attempting to move hazardous materials, or obstructing the moving process. We do not move the following items: compressed gasses, contraband, firearms, pets, and perishables.

Access and Preparation: You agree to ensure that the pick-up and delivery locations are accessible and properly prepared for the move (e.g., clear pathways, elevators, etc.).

Privacy Policy and Data Protection

The People Movers is committed to protecting your privacy. We will collect personal information (such as your name, contact information, and address). All information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

Ownership of Content: The content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of The People Movers and protected by copyright laws.

User-Generated Content: Any photos or content shared by you related to your moving experience may be used by The People Movers for marketing purposes.

Payment Terms

Fees and Charges: Moving services are charged based on factors such as: time, distance, size of the load, and any additional services (e.g., packing or storage). Rates will be provided to you at the time of booking.

Billing and Refunds: Payments are due before or upon completion of service. We accept credit cards and other payment methods as specified on our website. If you cancel the service within 24 hours of booking, you may be eligible for a refund. Cancellations after this time may result in a lost deposit.

Limitation of Liability

The People Movers will only be liable for any loss, damage, or injury that occurs during the move, in cases of negligence by us. We are not responsible for damage to items that were improperly packed by the customer or pre-existing damage.

No Warranty: While we make every effort to ensure a safe and efficient move, we do not guarantee that the service will be free from interruptions or errors.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold The People Movers harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your actions during the moving process.

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ontario, Canada.

Dispute Resolution: In the event of a dispute, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved, it will be submitted to binding arbitration in Ontario.

Termination of Service

The People Movers reserves the right to suspend or terminate services if the Customer fails to comply with these Terms, refuses to pay, or provides false or misleading information. You may terminate the service by notifying us within 24 hours of booking or at least 5 business days before the scheduled move date.

Changes to the Terms

The People Movers reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website (www.thepeoplemovers.ca), and it is your responsibility to review them regularly. By continuing to use our services after changes are made, you accept the revised Terms.

Force Majeure

We are not responsible for any delays or failure to perform our services due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions will continue to be in effect.

Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Customer and The People Movers regarding the use of moving services and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings.
